Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI)

The Chamber represents and co-ordinates common interests of its members in the matters of business activities at home and abroad, provides them services and meets requirements given by the law.


In the framework of its activities, it particularly:

  • participates in the preparation of generally binding legal regulations and provisions in the sphere of business;
  • co-acts in the co-ordination and implementation of economic relations of the Slovak Republic with countries abroad;
  • it assists in harmonizing interests of its members in the sphere of business activities and protects them against dishonest business relations;
  • establishes and develops contacts with chambers and similar institutions at home and abroad, and enters into agreements with them, organizes economic and trading missions and delegations;
  • collects and widens knowledge and information about business-political, legal, customs, ecological and economic conditions abroad, and issues publications for that purpose;
  • secures promotion of its members at home and abroad, including participation on exhibitions and fairs;
  • issues for its members certifications of facts important in legal relations created in the international business;
  • organizes arbitration proceedings in economic disputes between its members;
  • functions as an information-providing centre aimed at finding business partners at home and abroad;
  • provides its members with counseling services in all questions connected with doing business and the economic sphere;
  • organizes educational activities;
  • establishes and controls establishments and institutions for the support of business and education in the region;
  • carries out own economic activities to support proper execution of its role in line with its mission;
  • promotes environmentally suitable forms of production, products and business;
  • establishes Regional Chambers;
  • sets up the Arbitration Court as a permanent independent body to settle disputes related to property claims by independent arbitrators pursuant to the regulations referring to the arbitration proceedings in international and domestic business relations, and creates conditions for the proper execution of its activities.

In line with the law and these Statutes, the Chamber co-operates with civic associations and business associations.
