Dubrovnik Port Authority intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) towards the cost of the project "Passenger Port Dubrovnik: Reconstruction and Extension of Quay Structure – Batahovina I" and is now seeking Expressions of Interest from consulting companies interested in providing supervision services.
The main objective of the assignment shall be supervision of the implementation of the project Passenger Port Dubrovnik – rehabilitation and construction of quay structure by completing following tasks:
• To perform the duties and assume the authority of 'the Engineer in accordance with the contract conditions of the works contract which will be based upon the FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction for Employer Designed Works (1999)'.
• Ensuring proper accounting
• Approving of Contractor's programme, plant, technology and materials
• Issuing to DPA the reports on the works

The subject of the Project is the works of reconstruction and extension of Dubrovnik Passenger Port operative quay. The estimated project cost is approximately EUR 8 million. Specific attention has to be paid on the need of minimum possible disturbance of the port usage in sense of acceptance of vessels and passengers.
• Berth 17 — rehabilitation of operative quay
Quay line rehabilitation at berth 17 includes building of a new operative quay in length of 187 m where the ferry traffic will be relocated. New operative quay consists of a pile deck built on reinforced pile structure with scour protection. Presently berth 17 is without any quay furniture.
The assignment is expected to start March 2010 and last about 12 months.
The contract will be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank and will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Polices and Rules. The bidding is open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nation Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
Interested firms are hereby invited to submit expressions of interest. Short-listed qualified firm will be formally invited to submit proposals following this invitation.
In order to determine the capability and experience of consulting firms seeking to be short-listed, the information submitted shall include the following:
• Company profile, organisation and staffing;
• Details of experience or similar assignments undertaken in the previous five years, including their locations;
• CVs of staff available to work on the assignment
The above information should not exceed 30 pages.
Two copies of the above information in English should be submitted to the address below in an envelope marked 'Expression of Interest for the project Passenger Port Dubrovnik – rehabilitation and construction of quay structure', for delivery not later than 16th October 2009 at 10:00 a.m.
