  • co-operation in research and technology development mainly through the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) for research, technology development and demonstration activities - the EU's main instrument for funding research in Europe in 2007-2013. ICTs play a crucial role in boosting innovation, creativity and competitiveness of all industry and service sectors. The ICT theme is funded with budget of € 9.1 billion in the period of 2007-2013.
  • technology transfer represents one of the main priorities of EU in sustainable development of European economy and the form of technological co-operation based on the transfer of already developed technologies to user organisation (industry, administration, health-care, etc.). Technology transfer may be implemented in various levels of co-operation between partners: information exchange, manufacturing and/or marketing agreement, license agreement, and joint venture.
